PHOTOS FROM 2013 WORKSHOPS

Another fabulous round of Lantern making Workshops in preparation for the Community Lantern Procession to open the Festival of Cultures 2013, March 15th.
Big Thanks to Downtown for the use again this year of the High Profile Broadway shop space, where everyone can see the workshops happening and stroll in to watch and make.
Numbers up this year, and funny how word spreads around schools and friends - after one family has been in we'll get at least 3 more families arrive to have a go, great referrals by word of mouth - the best kind!

The Year of the Snake Centrepeice
People often ask how they are made.
With difficulty! and willow and tape and tissue, and much head scratching in the planning stages. Gerald the Snake is longer than the 2012 dragon, just coiled. This left me with very little space to get inside for papering, lucky i'm lean! In memory of Gerald Nesdale 1936 - 2013 |
