LET US TRANSFORM YOUR SPACE
EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Cuba Dupa
POP-UP URBAN GARDEN

A Weekend Transformation of an Inner City car park into
an Urban Garden paradise for Cuba Dupa Festival, Wellington
March 20 and 21st 2016

Workshops were held during the week with members of the public and Clifton Terrace School at Thistle Hall, Cuba Street, and during Cuba Dupa Festival to help in the creation of anything and everything you could find in an Urban Garden, from grown and reuse recycle items. REACT installed everything overnight on Friday 19th March.

With the walls we created needing to be as interactive as possible for all the senses,
and with all surfaces needing to be lickable,

this was a really good challenge.
There are bells to pull, insects to make fly,
drums to beat,
Flowers to smell and ring and squeeze your fingers into.
Rainstick windmills to mirror the local ranges.
Things to turn and hoot, cars to race, and a jacket to explore.

'The Heavenly Horse (Tianma) Walks in Space'
        行=walk    空=space/sky
This phrase is used to describe something (particularly a project) that is creative and full of imagination.

Thanks to Art in the dark for some budget to get Tianma from planning stage to Made and Active
Kiwburn also supported financially;
Big nod to Feilding Computers (Owen) for C++
and O'Leary Engineering for Great Frame work.

   React takes commissions for Living Structures sculptures                  As well as for Art installations and custom puppets
