A Moving Light Installation that
Runs in Real Time and Space
The phrase Tianma is used to describe something, particularly a project, that is creative and full of imagination. We hope we meet the brief with our Electric Equine. As with all our projects, the aim is to be sustainable. Tianma is Low Wattage and low voltage with rechargable batteries. She is made using Electrolumiscent wire, Chicken wire, a programmed Arduino and other fancy bits, towed a bike trailer made from Bamboos and old mop handles and moves by people power on bicycle. |
Heigh ho Hoiho!
Towed by Bicycle and tested on roads, grass and gravel,
we are ready to roam
A crazy idea and logistical nightmare inspired by the Year of the Horse 2014 Tianma got off the drawing board and onto her feet with Financial Assistance from
Art in the Dark 2013 and Kiwiburn Festival. Massive Thanks also to Owen Willacy at Feilding Computers for Programming skills and O'Leary Engineering for Ali Frame. |
Tianma has now appeared at:
Art in the Dark Auckland, NZ November 2013
50yr anniversary of the Steam Engine Club, Rangiwahia Domain November 2013

Invited to Light Berlin November 2014 but couldn't attend
She featured for a time on TV in Channel One promo advert.
She would welcome some new action and would love to stretch her legs at a horsey show sometime.
